Privacy Policy
Stardew Pocket Guide
Effective Date: March 2026
This page informs you of our policies regarding the collection, use, and disclosure of information when you use our mobile application, Stardew Pocket Guide ("the App", "our Service"), and the choices you have associated with that data.
By using the Service, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this Privacy Policy.
1. Offline-First & Local Data Storage
Stardew Pocket Guide is architected as an offline-first companion app. Your privacy and data ownership are top priorities.
Your gameplay progress data is stored locally on your device by default and is never sold, rented, or shared with third parties for marketing purposes.
Information such as your checklists (Community Center bundles, fish caught, villager gift preferences, shipping records, golden walnuts, farm planner layouts, and 100% True Perfection progress) is stored within the app's local database (Hive) on your device storage.
2. In-App Purchases & RevenueCat Integration
We offer optional in-app purchases and developer tips (e.g. Geode supporter tiers, Pro feature unlocks) to support ongoing development. We use RevenueCat as our mobile subscription and in-app purchase management platform.
When you initiate a purchase or restore purchases in the app, RevenueCat processes data to validate transactions and manage entitlement statuses across your app sessions. This includes:
- Anonymous User Identifiers: A randomly generated, pseudonymous App User ID (or anonymous RevenueCat ID) to link purchases to your device session.
- Transaction Receipts & Metadata: Purchase tokens, order identifiers, product identifiers, timestamp, and store transaction receipts provided by Google Play.
- Subscriber Attributes: Non-personally identifiable app attributes (such as high-level gameplay completion percentage, selected app theme, language, and anonymized ad impression counters) to ensure seamless entitlement delivery and customer support.
Payment Security Note: We and RevenueCat never receive, store, or process your credit card, debit card, or sensitive banking details. All financial transactions are securely processed end-to-end by the Google Play Store.
For more information on RevenueCat’s privacy and data protection practices, please refer to the RevenueCat Privacy Policy.
3. Optional Google Drive Cloud Backup
The app provides an optional feature enabling you to back up and restore your progress checklists using your private Google Drive account.
- Authentication: Google Sign-In is used solely to authenticate your access to your own Google Drive.
- Restricted Scope: We strictly request the hidden Application Data folder scope (
drive.appdata). The app only reads and writes its own backup archive files (such asspg_backup.json). It has no access to your personal documents, photos, or other files stored on your Google Drive. - Control: Cloud backup is completely voluntary and initiated only upon your explicit action in the app settings.
4. Analytics, Ads, & Diagnostics
To keep the application stable, monitor crashes, and support free access, the app integrates industry-standard third-party SDKs:
- Google Firebase Analytics & Crashlytics: Collects anonymized diagnostic data, device model, operating system version, and general usage statistics (such as feature opens and crash logs) to diagnose bugs and improve performance.
- Google AdMob: Serves non-intrusive advertisements. Google AdMob may collect and process device identifiers, advertising IDs, and interaction data in compliance with Google's advertising policies.
5. Third-Party Service Providers
Below are links to the privacy policies of the third-party service providers utilized in the app:

6. Data Retention & Deletion Requests
We respect your right to control and delete your data:
- Local Game Progress: You can completely erase your local progress, checklists, and preferences at any time by clearing the app data in your device settings, using the in-app reset function, or simply uninstalling the app.
- Cloud Backup Data: If you used the optional Google Drive Cloud Backup feature, you can delete your backup file directly from the app or via your Google Drive management dashboard.
- Anonymous Identifiers: To request deletion of any pseudonymous telemetry or transaction logs associated with your anonymous user ID in third-party dashboards, you may contact us directly at skyward211@gmail.com.
7. Children’s Privacy
Our Services do not address anyone under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under 13 years of age. If you are a parent or guardian and you are aware that your child has provided personal information, please contact us so that we can take appropriate action.
